Butane’s Extrasketch welcomes further fresh material this March as the label boss returns to deliver the slick two-track ‘Labor Of Love’ EP.
A figure of quality and consistency within the realms of house and techno, Andrew Rasse aka Butane is an artist that excels not only as an ever-impressing producer and DJ, but also as an active A&R that has curated some of the deepest label catalogues in the industry. Following a string of recent collaborations alongside emerging talent Riko Forinson on the likes of Deeperfect, Little Helpers and SCI+TEC and with 2019 now in full swing, here we see the San Francisco artist return to his own Extrasketch imprint and his main creative hub armed with two new productions in the form of his ‘Labor Of Love’ EP, set for the release on the label in mid-March.
Opening cut ‘Gatekeeper’ reveals a slow-winding and hypnotic journey as a medley of hypnotic percussion arrangements are guided by hazy, distorted chants and warping low-end tones. On the flip Rasse ups the tempo a bit with ‘Fly High’, combining rich textures and crisp drum shots to deliver a rolling, groove-heavy cut that is sure to be party-favourite in the months to come.
Butane ‘Labor Of Love’ EP is out on Extrasketch on 15th March 2019.
