Lady of The House Announce Cultural Exhibition & UK Club Tour dates

Lady Of The House Launch UK Club Tour with Arielle Free, Alex Mills, The Yard Woman, Charlie Tee + more Plus a first-of-its-kind Cultural Exhibition on International Womens’ Day March 8th 2022 

Following on from the success of the first ever book Celebrating, Championing and Honouring women in Dance Music, the female-led organisation behind Lady Of The House, hosts a pioneering Cultural Exhibition launching on International Women’s Day, Tuesday March 8th 2022. This will take place at the world’s first fully hybrid venue with an exact digital twin venue, Bristol’s Lost Horizon. (Created by the Shangri-La Glastonbury team)

The programme will kick off with a Under 18’s day which will consist of educating students in a variety of topics inc: DEI, music production, DJing, artist management, and much more.

Simultaneously they also launch their inaugural UK Club tour which will see world class acts paired with exciting upcoming talents on all women line ups across a number of cities including dates in Bournemouth, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Southampton, Birmingham and London.

The UK Club tour kicks off on Friday March 11th with Radio 1’s Arielle Free headlining at Halo, Bournemouth alongside Alex Mills, The Yard Woman and Modacode as well as the DJ Competition winner.

The following day Saturday March 12th, Lady of The House will be taking over Lost Horizon, Bristol with a line up that includes Charlie Tee with more guests TBA.

“It was a natural progression to launch the UK club tour as there’s so many amazingly talented women pushing boundaries and playing and producing great music across the electronic dance music genres. Also we wanted to start introducING the new school of talents, women emerging as leading lights in their field, and also bring Lady Of The House to towns, festivals and events across the UK. Marking their milestone achievement, Lady of the House, teamed up with Jenny featured online as part of the V&A Dundee’s ‘Night Fever’ exhibition, teaming up with designer Jenny Elliott to produce a ‘Women In Club Culture’ music map which will be available to buy exclusively at Lady Of The House Exhibition.

The first book of its kind, Lady Of the House celebrates, champions and honours the stories of over 150 women in dance music and beyond. Together their careers span six decades, four continents and a huge range of roles in the music industry. With a forward from the iconic DJ Carl Cox, and dedicated to the legendary disco artists, Loleatta Holloway, the book features contributions from Nina Kraviz, Nicole Moudaber, Charlotte De Witte, Jaguar, Ellen Alien, DJ Paulette, Sam Divine, Roisin Murphy, Sarah Story, Ultra Nate, Candi Staton, Jocelyn Brown, Barbara Tucker, Rowetta and Smokin Jo. 

From artists to managers, promoters to label owners, the contributors share their experiences of breaking barriers and building their careers within the industry.
