Lánre Brings Emotional Depth with New Alt-Pop Single ‘What Happens Next?’

Atlanta-based singer-songwriter Lánre unveils his latest single, “What Happens Next?”, a heartfelt exploration of love and personal growth. This emotive track marks a compelling shift in Lánre’s musical journey, showcasing his versatility as an artist by blending alt-pop with country music influences.

Following the commercial triumph of his EP ‘up all night.’—which charted in top albums across Switzerland, Japan, Iceland, Liberia, and Belgium—this new single offers fans an intimate glimpse into Lánre’s personal life. “I’m at a point in my life where I’m thinking about more than just the future of my career. It’s a very rare thing that you meet someone who makes you start thinking of things like marriage and having kids. That’s who I wrote “What Happens Next?” about. Through lyrics that confess his longing for a future with someone special, Lánre expresses his readiness for the next chapter in his adulthood, embracing all the complexities that come with love and commitment.

Co-written and co-produced with acclaimed folk artist Clint James, also known as C. James, “What Happens Next?” exemplifies Lánre’s artistry through his ability to transcend genre boundaries while staying true to his authentic voice. The single moves away from the electro-pop sound of his previous work, delivering a more introspective and soulful piece that invites listeners to connect with its raw emotional depth. This release underscores Lánre’s artistic growth and his willingness to explore new musical landscapes, promising to keep fans eagerly anticipating what he will create next.

Coming off his sold out Southeast tour this summer, fans can look forward to seeing Lánre live in more cities including Atlanta, LA, London, and Asheville fall of 2024 and winter 2025.
