Lánre Unleashes Electrifying Dance-Pop EP ‘up all night.’

Since starting his music career in 2020, Lánre has been blazing his path toward superstardom while defying genre expectations along the way. In the lead-up to his new EP ‘up all night.’, the Atlanta singer has been showcasing a fresh sound that intersects the RNB, dance-pop, and EDM genres, as evident in the project’s first single, ‘idk.’ With his sophomore 10-track EP, Lánre effortlessly brings these worlds together in an emotionally charged project.

The 2023 releases off ‘up all night.,’ ‘idk’ and ‘breathe.’ marked a sonic shift for the singer-songwriter, with bolder vocals and subject matter set to masterful pop productions. This was a welcome change for listeners around the world as ‘idk’ became a hit that charted at #56 on Belgium’s iTunes Pop Chart and gained over 250,000 global streams in under a year of release. It turns out Lánre was just getting started, as he kicked off the year with a bang in his raunchy pop anthem, ‘tell me.’— a single that gained the attention of Medium and landed him on their ‘Rising Stars in the Music Industry’ list.

With more emotional tracks like ‘high.’ and ‘burnin.’ Lánre demonstrates that his skills go well beyond making dance bops. He showcases his continued evolution as an artist by diving into serious subjects like anxiety and burnout with captivating lyrics sung by his powerful vocals. That being said, the singer is no stranger to creating high-energy electronic anthems like the EP’s focus single, ‘STRANGERS’ — a House-inspired track similar to John Summit, that pays homage to Atlanta’s electronic music scene. This is what separates Lánre from his peers and will keep fans coming back for more.

“My new EP ‘up all night.’ is a collection of stories, situations, and thoughts that keep me up when I’m alone at night. Each song has its own color and vibe that tells a different story. Sonically, I wanted ‘up all night.’ to make you feel like you’re listening to the radio in the backseat of a car on a ride home from the bars at 2 AM. I’ve been in that seat many times, and there’s a sense of excitement, dread, hope, and horniness all mixed in there,” says Lánre.

“It was really important to me and my executive producer, Mileage, that these songs didn’t sound like anything I’ve put out before.  With both of us being from Atlanta, we’re always pushing each other to be more innovative during sessions. That’s what makes our city so special and you can feel that energy on every track of ‘up all night.’ We experimented with different genres and instruments like synth keys and even chopped samples of my voice to find a unique dance-pop vibe for the project. Even down to the way I sang. Instead of trying to sound perfect on each take, I sang from my heart so it feels like you’re right there in the room with me with every lyric,” he continues.

With its undeniably catchy melodies, masterful production, and emotional throughlines, ‘up all night.’ gives listeners hits that they can cry and/or dance to. There’s no doubt that the singer’s sophomore EP project will make fans and listeners alike want more from him for many years to come.

Coming off his soldout shows in Rotterdam and London, fans can look forward to seeing Lánre live in US cities including Atlanta, LA, Nashville, Miami, Asheville, and Athens in the summer and fall of 2024.
