Bobby Harvey, Abi Flynn & One Bit share their first single together ‘Last Summer’, to be released on Friday 3rd February.
The track takes inspiration from the seminal piano line in ‘Someday’ by the legendary CeCe Rogers, a riff that grew to greater fame when sampled by Liquid in their 1992 hit ‘Sweet Harmony’. The result is the utterly euphoric ‘Last Summer’. While the piano motif is instantly recognisable, placing it in the context of a crossover house anthem with a throwback ‘90s edge – Abi Flynn’s topline seals the deal – her soaring high notes, nostalgic lyrics and irrepressible energy shaping a hit-in-the-making.
On the track, Bobby Harvey says “Creating this song with Abi Flynn and One Bit has been a fun journey, with everybody adding their thing to the project along the way. Initially the piano riff stood out to me and felt nostalgic and reminded me of growing up and being really excited with dance music for the first time”.
As the mystery voice behind Gold selling global hit ‘Believe Me’ by Navos, Every Single Time by Bissett, a track that’s at 20 million streams and counting, and countless other chart hits, Abi Flynn’s smooth, melodic vocals and irresistibly catchy toplines have taken the dance world by storm. Having already exceeded 150 million streams, her recent collaborations include working with Bad Boy Chiller Crew, producer/rapper Teedee and PS1. One Bit, the platinum selling duo, are artists ,writers and producers with an eclectic list of credits to their name, including their global smash with Noah Cyrus ‘MY WAY’ (Silver-certified in the UK), plus millions more streams with Louisa Johnson on ‘Between You and Me’ amongst others, and they’ve also received radio support from the likes of Danny Howard, Huw Stephens and Pete Tong.
