DASH BERLIN
The incredibly popular Dash Berlin, aka Jeffrey Sutorios, came to prominence in 2007 with a string of club hits including ‘Till The Sky Falls Down’ (over 15 million youtube views) and ‘Waiting’ (20 million views) and has gone on to release 5 albums including the classic ‘#musicislife’ and this year’s ‘We Are (Part1)’.
O2 Brixton will be the perfect backdrop to the uplifting vocals and inventive ‘Dash Up’ re-work edits that form the backbone of all Dash Berlin performances, fired up with the interactive visuals and energy that be brings to the dancefloor.
RIVA STARR
Riva Starr (AKA Stefano Miele) draws his inspiration from such a diverse range of sources that it makes it practically impossible to pigeonhole his style. However, even the quickest glances at the acclaimed DJ and producer’s lengthy list of collaborations and remixes gives us an idea of his eclecticism; having teamed up with artists from Horace Andy and Roots Manuva to Fatboy Slim and Beardyman and delivering his own take on singles by Gossip, Justin Martin and Claude Von Stroke, Van Helden, Plan B, Azari & III and many others.
Originally hailing from Naples but now based in London, Stefano’s hidden talents boast a degree in Chinese Literature, hinting at the producer’s passion for different cultures, which resonates throughout his musical style. Stef has had a steady stream of quality musical output from his Snatch! Records imprint which has been highly commemorated within dance circles. Snatch! is set to highlight some of this year’s biggest events including Sonar and Creamfields.
But above all, whether he’s working on personal projects, collaborating with Green Velvet or DJ Sneak or throwing Snatch! Parties it’s Stef’s infectious free spirit that inspires such loyalty from his fans. Stef’s mercurial approach to music means that artistically he never stands still. A groundbreaker, he has paved the way for several new(ish) scenes, dropping trend-setting tunes before moving on again in ever more exciting directions.
FLASHMOB
Milan duo Danny and Alessandro combine an incredible work ethic, easy going personality and creative talent in equal measure. Having scored anthems such as Need In Me and Brick House for heavyweight labels such as Defected and Get Physical, Flashmob continue to strive to deliver the perfect fusion of underground beats with crossover hooks that satisfy both the Saturday night crowd and Sunday morning community.
This unique combination has won them fans worldwide and each week Flashmob take to the skies to perform at events across the globe. With their rich musical heritage, Flashmob are known for their long sets, as their recent 7hr session for legendary Dutch venue Toffler demonstrated.
It’s this desire to share good music that has led in 2014 to the launch of their own label Flashmob Records that will showcase the full spectrum of house and techno alongside their own releases for major labels.
This project will sit easily alongside other hands-on activities such as filling the world with stickers (see their Facebook) and holding secret ‘Flash Mob’ parties at unique venues in collaboration with forward thinking promoters.
COPY PASTE SOUL
The rise of Copy Paste Soul has seen the elusive producer supported by Annie Mac, Justin Martin, MistaJam, Skream, T. Williams, Modeselektor, Disclosure, and Tensnake, for his soul-quenching sub-heavy rave inspired sound.
He’s just relaunched his 2 Swords imprint and remixed Laurent Garnier. Previous releases such as his ‘Blink’ and ‘Look At Me’ EPs on Exploited, and remixes for Photek, Deadmau5 and Alex Barck on Sonar Kollektiv, as well as Hugo on Gruuv, signal that his production nous is sought after by those in the know.
Recent high-profile gigs include the O2 Academy Oxford for Annie Mac’s Presents Party, and Carl Cox’s Revolution Night at Space Ibiza where Carl Cox, Loco Dice and Louis Vega all danced in the booth as he closed his set. Upcoming gigs at Bestival and IN:Motion in Bristol signal that Copy Paste Soul’s assault on the elite is happening in double-time.
2013’s edition saw a new winner in the form of Dutch powerhouse, Hardwell; the Dutch DJ/producer replaced five-times No.1 Armin Van Buuren. At 25 years old, Hardwell became the Poll’s youngest ever winner. Last year’s Poll received votes from well over 750,000 people and from more than 200 countries, reinforcing its position as the biggest music poll in the world.
The Top 100 DJs Poll Awards will be held during the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) on Saturday 18 October and will take place at the Amsterdam Music Festival. The presentation partner for the awards is KLM – ‘carrier of the world’s best DJs’. The level and scale of the Top 100 DJs Poll in 2014 is neatly conveyed by the choice of venue for this year’s event – The Amsterdam ArenA. The stadium for Ajax football club will welcome thousands of fans to ADE’s biggest dance event.
The Top 100 DJs Poll is a publicly voted poll that inspires fierce debate across the year with speculation on the world’s No.1 DJ, new entries and biggest climbers dominating online discussion and beyond.

HISTORY OF THE POLL
The Top 100 DJs Poll began as an editorial feature in October 1993, to celebrate DJ Mag’s 100th issue. It was predominantly UK-based at first, but when the poll was opened up to the international scene via website voting, it truly exploded. There have been a few attempts at imitation, but DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs Poll has remained the definitive list. As well as its significance for individual DJs, the Top 100 DJs Poll also documents the growth – or decline – of dance music scenes, reflecting the ebb and flow of genres as new sounds and scenes take hold and spread.
In 2013, Hardwell was crowned the No.1 DJ for the first time, toppling five-time No.1, Armin van Buuren. 2011’s winner was David Guetta. Other previous winners include Tiesto (three times), Paul van Dyk (twice), Paul Oakenfold (twice), Carl Cox (twice), Sasha and John Digweed.
