Trailing this year’s swathe of accolades (Jaguar’s Dancefloor Moment, Pete Tong’s support, Beatport hottest new March artists …) to add to the pile (eg Mixmag’s ‘Best EPs of 2022’) emerging Swiss producer/DJ/live artist Sensu drops DnB-rich ‘Clear My Mind’, the final pre-launch single from her ‘AM___PM’ EP on Attack Decay Sweet Release.
Her genre-defying sound engaging future-UKG, post-DnB, hip hop and experimental electronica in the previous EP singles (‘Fuse’, and ‘Perfect Life (with Lawrence Hart’) also snagged recent support from Ben Malone on Kiss, SRF, Couleur3, Sirius, Reprezent Radio… while other previous honours include Montreux Jazz Festival’s Artist of the Month, and a Best Talent Swiss Music Award.
‘Clear My Mind’ marries the rattling energy of high pitched, high BPM snares with the plaintive sweetness of pitch-shifted, multi-layered, sometimes auto-tuneish, vocals which really sing.
‘I started the first demo of ‘Clear My Mind’ straight after Lawrence Hart and I finished mixing the other three EP tracks and I was super excited and inspired to have seen his workflow,’ Sensu says.
‘I loved this vocal from CLIP and just had to sample this bit, her lyrics are a perfect match to the concept of AM___PM. I wanted this song to be different and genre-defying. It’s important to me to have something unexpected on every project to surprise the listeners.’
