‘Phoenix’ follows Fire The Mob’s last release ‘Ordinary Things’ which took off after featuring on Indie Shuffle and having organic support from channels such as ‘The Sound You Need’, ‘Mr Revillz’, ‘Selected Casual’ and more…raking in over 120,000 plays on Soundcloud.
BBC 3 Counties fell in love with the up-tempo, soulful house record and consequently became playlisted for daytime radio on BBC 1Xtra receiving airplay from Trevor Nelson, DJ Target, Sarah Jane Crawford & more. 1xtra’s DJ Cameo really championed the record too, placing it number three in the UKG charts and spending five weeks in the top five.
Other Radio support came from BBC Radio 1’s Jen Long & Ally McCrae, Ricky Simmonds (Ministry of Sound Radio), playlisted on Chilled House Sessions (Ministry of Sound Radio), DJ Supa D for Ras Kwame’s Capital Xtra takeover, playlisted by Amazing Radio and support from other stations!
Another great milestone for Ordinary Things came when Phonetic Records signed the record in November 2014.
Laura Doggett has had an incredible few years. Having been talent spotted as a finalist of the competition ‘The Next Brit Thing’ two years ago, then recently signed by major record label RCA, she is now supporting chart-topper John Newman on his UK tour.
It’s rare to come across a singer who manages to sound so carelessly powerful and commanding, all the while maintaining a baseline of fierce sensuality. However, in the event of such a talent it was inevitable for Fire The Mob to take the undeniable uniqueness of Laura and produce the ground shaking Phoenix Remix.
To thank the fans for the support over recent months, this remix is available for free download.
