Lawrence Hart drops debut solo single ‘Just Belong’ on Domino’s Double Six label

Lawrence Hart drops ‘Just Belong’ on Domino’s Double Six, his debut solo release on the revered imprint after his two recent collab singles with Giulia Tess, which snagged support from Lauren Laverne, Jess Iszatt, Jaguar, Jack Saunders, Floating Points on NTS, Rinse, DMY, Mixmag’s Top Tracks of 2024 so far, plus heavy playlist uptake. Hart also has a long-standing relationship as a producer with fellow Double Six/Domino artist George FitzGerald.

Classically-trained multi-instrumentalist/composer Hart’s style expresses a logical, science-savvy mind with emotion-evoking vibes; superbly sharp production skills with hot heavy beats and club-ready cuts; all creating a sound both dancefloor-primed and perfect listening pleasure.

‘Just Belong’: high, trancey melodic cascades of synth notes, with a pitch-shifted vocal riff, gives an uplifting emotional edge to a breakneck speed layering of hihat hiss, complex beats, subtle bass, and occasional gruff, distorted synth chord passages. As always with Hart, production values are squeaky clean and diamond-clear. The ideal feelgood track for summer dancefloors and open top driving.

Says Lawrence Hart: ‘Being on a dance floor can often feel like a moment of collective togetherness whilst being in a symbiotic state of personal release. Whilst finishing ‘Just Belong’ I hoped that sense of both release and belonging resonated through the music and lyrics.’

Hart’s recent collab with Model Man won tastemaker support across Radio 1’s Danny Howard (First Play) and Jaguar… Other collabs include Giulia Tess, Mera Bhai (a Mixmag top track 2023), Otus, Sensu… and his production skills are in high demand not only from George FitzGerald but also from Lil Silva a.m.m, plus remixing Foals, Black Box, lau.ra… Before signing to Double Six, he’s released on  Attack Decay Sweet Release, LG105, & his own SSEM label.

‘Just Belong’ is out now on Double Six. Save it HERE.
