Lawrence Hart’s eagerly awaited EP ‘Music for Dark Spaces’ drops in full on March 3rd, featuring the monumental single ‘First Light’. This drops just before his headline show at Peckham Audio on March 9th.
‘First Light‘ is a colossal electronic production drenched in feeling. As the track builds through vast synthesisers, aching vocals and driving drums, it has you instinctively moving with it, yet feeling the need to pause and bask in the glow of the towering symphonic strings. This orchestration giving ‘First Light’ the feel of an instant classic, whilst Hart’s signature production pushes the boundaries of new music.
Also on the EP: the UKG-influenced ‘Let Me Feel’, emotional club cut ‘A Deeper Love’ and spirited yet sentimental ‘How the Light Gets In’, which have already seen support from the likes of BBC R1, 6Music, Mixmag, RTE2 fm, KCRW, DMY, DJ Culture Mag, and broad editorial support across Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Soundcloud.
‘Music For Dark Spaces‘ EP closes with haunting piano outro ‘Veiled‘, a new piece showcasing yet another element of Lawrence Hart’s range as a multi-instrumentalist and composer. Recorded in his new studio, ‘Music For Dark Spaces’ explores the chiaroscuro of music and how the listener’s physical and psychological context shapes their experience of it.
March 9th will see Lawrence take to the stage at Peckham Audio, London to share his brand new live show, in celebration of the EP release. Before that, he heads to Italy for a live headline show at LaCattedrale on 17th Feb. Hart is also a respected co-producer (inc. for George Fitzgerald and Lil Silva) and collaborator/remixer (lau.ra, Alan Fitzpatrick, Foals).
