Le Bon Jams Make Their Mark With ‘What U Need’ On [PIAS] Électronique

London four-piece act Le Bon Jams have returned with their latest dance floor anthem ‘What U Need ‘on [PIAS] Électronique in anticipation of their debut EP set for release in June.

‘What U Need’ is a groove-driven house track, merging smooth basslines, shiny synths, and soulful vocal cuts into a club-primed, feel-good anthem. With crisp percussion across their collection of instruments, coupled with rolling rhythms, the result is an infectious momentum and bright melodic flourishes with a subtle build-up throughout. A track both playful and euphoric, the layered textures throughout bring a nostalgic warmth of the club classics, with a modern edge, primed for the summer dancefloor.

Speaking about the track’s creation, the band shared: “We wanted to craft something that felt joyous, soulful, and retro in its melody, yet heavy-hitting and club-ready in its production. With ‘What U Need’, we were really just making something that we needed.”

London-based collective Le Bon Jams is composed of musical veterans Laura Welsh, Joe Brown, Franc Colucci, and James New. An electronic and pop dance quartet. Known for their blending of analog synths with live instrumentation, each member boasts an impressive career as an artist, coming together to craft unique releases built from indie and dance inspiration. After a breakout year in 2024, which saw the band gather support from musical icons Jaguar, Mark Knight, Don Diablo, and Arielle Free, the band now prepares for its debut EP, set to arrive in June.

Belgian label [PIAS] Électronique, established in 1982, was, as a testament to its strength, acquired by Universal Music Group in 2024. A home to a diverse array of influential artists across various genres, [PIAS] Électronique has supported music legends like Tiësto, The Pixies, Soulwax/2ManyDJs, Texas, and the Grammy award-winning Foxes. With a series of awards under their belt, including the Indie Champion award at AIM 2023, IMPALA’s Outstanding Contribution award, its director of recordings, Juan Vandervoort, was also awarded Music Week’s award for Music Retailer and Streaming Platform in 2018. Having cemented itself as a highly influential platform, the musical imprint now welcomes Le Bon Jams onto its roster, providing a powerful platform for the amplification of their sound.
