Bringing in his trademark ‘warehouse disco’ heat, LEFTI drops a stunning new take on the CASSIMM groover ‘It’s A House Thing’, out now on all DSPs. With smooth percussion, building synths, and a relentless vocal samples that doesn’t let go from the moment the needle drops, this heavier house edit of CASSIMM’s original is perfectly positioned for the darker depths of underground clubland.
“I was extremely honored to remix CASSIMM,” LEFTI said, “he’s been absolutely crushing the house scene the last couple of years. When I got the stems, I wanted to steer clear of what seemed like the obvious remix route, so I took only the vocal and made an entirely new instrumental encapsulating my recent production stylings; house drums, vocal chops and an insanely phat and phunky bass line.”
The edit comes on revered imprint Freakin909, whose reputation for releasing classically aligned house music is well established and a perfect fit for LEFTI’s refined style. Having previously released on the label, LEFTI has also found himself courted by the likes of Nervous, Let There Be House, and Toolroom Records, as well as running his own imprint Quincy Boy Records. With substantial airplay support coming from the influential British broadcasters like BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM, and Select Radio, the swell of acclaim is surely set to grow further with the release of ‘It’s A House Thing’.
