Mysterious London-based production outfit, letthemusicplay have announced their new single, ‘In The Beginning’, featuring house legend, Marshall Jefferson, and hotly tipped future stars, Until The Ribbon Breaks.
With their identities kept firmly under wraps, letthemusicplay, have been tipped by the likes of Mixmag, iD, The Guardian, Clash, 6 Music and many more.
‘In The Beginning’ follows letthemusicplay’s recent single, ‘Bright’, which featured The Horrors’ frontman Faris Badwan and remixes from Jakwob and Psychemagik, and the hot 2013 release, ‘Our Town’, featuring South London spoken word phenomenon, Kate Tempest, and released on London via Berlin collective, Greco-Roman, complete with a dub from Joe Goddard (Hot Chip, 2 Bears).
On ‘In The Beginning’, Marshall Jefferson’s vocal is one part spoken-word history lesson, one part reminder of his role at the beginning of the 20th century house revolution. Tipped by NPR, BBC, Pitchfork, Spin, Pigeons and Planes, Jay Z’s Life + Times and Fader, UTRB’s Peter Lawrie Winfield’s feature follows a recent appearance on EL-P and Killer Mike’s new album ‘Run The Jewels’. Having wrapped up North American tours supporting Lorde, Phantogram and Delorean, UTRB are working on their own upcoming album.
