LF SYSTEM have released their new single “Dancing Shoes (Take Me Higher)” on Ministry Of Sound LISTEN HERE
Conor Larkman and Sean Finnigan, are LF SYSTEM. The Scottish DJ / production duo had a phenomenal 2022 when their track “Afraid To Feel” exploded. Its omnipresent sounds were a welcome blow off of steam after lockdown. “Afraid to Feel”, spent eight weeks at #1, and is the longest running Number 1 dance record (equaling fellow Scot, Calvin Harris’s hit ‘One Kiss’). It has already exceeded 270 million streams and has been certified 2 x Platinum in the UK, as well as Platinum across Europe and Gold in Australia.. It also won ‘Dance Track Of The Year’ at the BBC Radio 1 Dance Awards, and was nominated for ‘Song Of The Year’ at the 2023 BRIT Awards. They followed up in the Autumn with another single, “Hungry (For Love)”, further flexing their disco muscles.
For 2023 LF SYSTEM have been toiling away in their West Lothian studio, and are now proud to announce that they have joined the Ministry Of Sound family for their new releases. Launched as Hottest Record on Radio 1 with Clara Amfo, on their new single “Dancing Shoes (Take Me Higher)”, LF SYSTEM insist that we lose ourselves on the dancefloor once again. This time they have used underground disco cut by Plaza “(Got My) Dancing Shoes” as the basis of their new single. They have polished up the sounds, replaying the sample, then used their surgeon-like skills to splice it up, sprinkled their House magic and added that signature tempo drop they are famed for. Added together they have delivered a fresh reimagining that will surely become staple as the months heat up…just in time for their big outdoor festival slots at Glastonbury, TRNSMT, Ushuaia Ibiza with Calvin Harris, Parklife, Reading & Leeds, and Exit
LF SYSTEM said “We’re absolutely buzzing to be working with such an iconic label for the dance music scene and it feels like the perfect home to be releasing our new music on. And finally, we are able to share our new single with the world and hope that you love it as much as we do!”
Despite the runaway success of their big single, LF SYSTEM are no flash in the pan. They had already established themselves on the Scottish DJ circuit with regular stints in Glasgow and Edinburgh clubs such as FLY and Sneaky Petes. The track that first launched them was “Dancing Cliche”, a big club hit which Danny Howard played for 5 weeks straight on Radio 1 before it was even signed or released. But since the release of “Afraid To Feel” their DJing has gone into a higher gear. with their first Boiler Room at FLY Open Air in Edinburgh, headlining Fabric, a sold-out Night Tales show, 2 x headline sets (including NYE) at Warehouse Project, making their Ibiza debut playing B2B with Danny Howard at Amnesia, a sold-out 4 month tour of UK and Europe, sold-out home country shows at Liquid Room and SWG3 and a set at ADE. In 2023 their work schedule continued with pace with a debut Australia & NZ tour in February.. In March they had their debut US tour with all headline shows sold-out in advance with additional support shows to Dom Dolla at the legendary Red Rocks (Denver, 10k cap), John Summit at Petco Park, San Diego (7k Cap) and their First ever show was in Las Vegas at The Wynn Hotel / Art of the Wild. Looking forward to 2023, the sold-out US tour has resulted in multiple festival offers for Autumn, including Portola (San Francisco), EDC Orlando, Boo (Seattle) and additional dates in US in both September & November. Plus another tour planned and Australia festival run end of 2023. In the UK they will closing TRNSMT festival in Glasgow on second stage (King Tuts) and have other big outdoor festival slots at Glastonbury, Creamfields, Ushuaia Ibiza with Calvin Harris, Parklife, Exit, and Reading & Leeds.
