After destroying dancefloors with his debut EP for STMPD RCRDS earlier this year (Street EP), Dutch powerhouse Bart B More is back with another slamming EP for Martin Garrix’s label. As ever, he demonstrates he’s one of the most inventive producers in the house-or-bass-or whatever-you-want-to-call-it field.
Lights Out is darkly-tinged track with shuffling old skool house rhythms. Its brooding bass and tense textures tease you with a warped vocal cut. Be prepared for explosive results if you play it!
The second track on the EP, Wack, covers the 90’s hit ‘Jump’ by Kriss Krossand is a touch more playful but still has a sting in its tail. The bouncing lead refrain has a mischievous feel to it. The breakdown takes things to a slightly spooky place before we’re back into that irresistible groove.
With productions for the likes of Rita Ora and Example, Bart B More has had a diverse and impressive career to date. His left-of-centre house sounds are the perfect fit for STMPD RCRDS’ diverse approach.
Bart B More ‘Lights Out’ is released on STMPD RCRDS on Friday 14 September.
