Loco Dice returns with new 3-track EP ‘The Sentence’

Marking the third release on his new En Couleur  imprint,  Loco Dice  continues with three-track EP ‘The Sentence’, out September 4th. It follows on from  ‘D-Town Playaz’  – a collaboration with Detroit legend  Eddie Fowlkes – and ‘Sweet Nectar Blossom’.

The new EP opens with ‘Backyard  Moves’, a slick house cut that pairs raw, breezy aesthetics with old school vocal samples. Next up is title track ‘The Sentence’, a proper jackin’ house jam, before ‘In The Mood’, the deepest track of the three, makes use of a seductive acid bassline underneath a laid-back talking Dice – with a positive attitude and the message that he’s ready for whatever comes next.

Translating to “in colour” in French, En Couleur is reserved exclusively for the Dusseldorf artist’s music. The name of the label was chosen because  “colour stands for the diversity of cultures I absorb and artists I meet on my life journey,”  Dice  explains. “Lots of things I do in my life appear in colour. The music I produce is like my movie in technicolor, and the music I play is sorted by colour in my crates and folders.”

Dice has also been busy hosting his all-new talk show ‘3 Is The Magic Number’ on Instagram Live. Having kicked off on  26th April with fellow dance music legend  Carl Craig, the weekly show sees him chat to a new guest each week about their  ‘all time favourite three’ . This could be anything from albums to movies to books to games, with guests coming from the worlds of fashion, hip-hop, art, fashion, sports and of course electronic music. Following on from Craig,  Grammy-winning music mogul Diplo, Paradise  founder Jamie Jones and Italian rap legend  Guè Pequeno, Skin of Skunk Anansie and a hit producer Carnage were among those who were featured.

But back to The Sentence! It’s another stellar EP made up of raw, infectious club tracks, Loco Dice continues to prove that lockdown ought to be no obstacle to making great music.
