Lincoln-born, London-based producer Courage aka Joe Carson, offers up the second instalment from his latest EP – Get Some Courage Volume 1. A seamless eerie extension of its predecessor, ‘NYE In A Haunted House’ released earlier this year, new single ‘Looking For’ once again showcases Courage’s’ coarse, energetic and bass heavy sound with a bite.
 
Made up of 7 tracks, the EP is a standout cohesive body of work, coupling his distinctively infectious bass lines with characterful synth and vocal samples.  Looking For leads with a punchy bassline, layered with a cascade of sounds and an infectious vocal. Following this is recent offering New Years Eve In A Haunted House, a bass heavy, experimental track with a sonic spookiness befitting its moniker.
 
Notable offering 2am, a collaboration with one-to-watch act RAY BLK, moves towards R&B with a driving bass layered with delicate vocals and an underlying groove, spiralling into ambient atmospherics. Courage’s sun drenched collaboration with Carmody, We Had The Night transports the listener to warmer climes with its twinkling synths, sensual vocal lines and Latin American beats.
 
Though the name Courage is relatively unknown, the sonic creations of Joe Carson are not. He’s produced recent collaborator RAY BLK’s new single “My Hood” featuring Stormzy and his remix of Ellie Goulding’s “On My Mind” has accumulated more than 650K YouTube views.
 
Speaking on his new moniker, Carson says "I guess the Courage project is this giant mad funhouse that just contains all my weird musical ideas, it's going to become a broader thing than just music incorporating a live show with circus-esque elements.”
