Lost Summer Selection

Leftwing & Kody’s label Lost Records celebrates summer with a hefty release boasting the likes of Max Chapman, Cera Alba, Montel and Raffa FL.

Helmed by UK duo Leftwing & Kody, Lost Records was established two years ago and has hosted the likes of Darius Syrossian, Hector Couto, Copy Paste Soul, MANIK and Josh Butler to name a few. With the arrival of the summer the label founders, whose Sankeys Ibiza residency is in full flight, have assembled a medley of talents to curate their ‘Lost Summer Selection’.

First up, Leftwing & Kody forge one of their trademark rollers by combining a thunderous bassline with the voice of Maxine Hardcastle in ‘Mad Hot’, before Germany’s Kevin Over introduces spacey synths and echoing vocals with ‘Faction’. Resonance Records founder Max Chapman then drops the chopped and twisted ‘Noiz’, making way for the purring bass of PAWSA’s ‘Muon’ and Cera Alba’s moody ‘Jivin’’ until Montel gets percussive in ‘Jumpin’.

Next, Mat.Joe & Kevin Knapp’s ‘Q&A’ demonstrates a low slung groove, Italian producers Raffa FL’s ‘The Freak Beat’ and Di Chiara Brother’s ‘Acid Attack’ each introduce a heavy dosage of 303, leading into fellow Italian Simon Liberali’s heady ‘Rocket Gang’. Nearing the end UK’s Electronic Youth & Gardy get rhythmic in ‘Don’t Stop’, Solid Groove’s Michael Bibi drops a bubbling bassline in ‘Power Of Life’, Troupe’s Latmun merges male vocal coos with sultry subs in ‘Elusion’, before Class Enemy ties it all together with the fluttering acid of ‘Around With It’.

Various Artists ‘Lost Summer Selection’ drops on Lost Records on 27th July 2015.
