Shadient - Lotus

Mad Zoo had previously existed solely as a platform for Mat Zo output, before The M Machine approached him for a one off partnership.  But, it was only once Mat came across 19-year-old English producer, Shadient, that he knew Mad Zoo was destined to become a full fledged label.

Out now is the winter=reality EP, Shadient’s debut release on Mad Zoo. The lead single is “Lotus,” a dark and intense experimental bass track that comes complete with a full on air-raid-level assault of twisting build ups and torrential drops. Immaculately constructed with each element polished to its full potential, “Lotus” is a sure fire dance floor demolisher. The remainder of the EP is comprised of “Secret Fires,” a full length melodic interlude, “Leidenfrost,” an ominous, bass heavy hybrid number, and “The View From Up Here” a prolific outro to round out the remarkable EP.

Shadient has been producing music out of his bedroom since the age of 10, and draws inspiration from the likes of FKA Twigs, Jon Hopkins, Moody Good, Aphex Twin, Rezz, Gesaffelstein, Justice and more.

In line with Shadient’s more analog influences, the winter=reality EP will also be available as an extremely limited cassette for sale via the Mad Zoo online store and at a yet to be revealed event in Los Angeles.
