LOUI FERNANDEZ – NOT TYPICAL

refused. rings in a new year with fresh talent, Loui Fernandez with his “Not Typical” EP, which is the label’s first release of 2015! Loui Fernandez is an accomplished young DJ/Producer from Madrid, Spain who has a sheer gift in producing modernistic, ear-catching techno tracks. His work has been supported by world-renowned producers such as Technasia, Carl Cox, Ricardo Villalobos, Metric, David Squillace, and Sander Kleinenberg to name a few. With a good, solid foot in the door of producing and DJing, we look forward to seeing this new artist grow with the refused. family.

Not Typical features three tracks, Rubik, The Jump and Sarah which each exude Loui Fernandez’s minimal sound. He pairs a strong bassline and percussion sequence with interesting sounds and effects. Rubik – Features a swift bassline paired with a with a hypnotic twinkle, sounds of wooden drums and an interesting zipping sound that repeats throughout. The Jump – This track has a strong bellowing bassline, which lays the framework for a unique percussive sequence. The Jump has an eagerness to it, and brings out a lot of energy. Sarah – The final track of the EP has a sexy groove to it. The bass starts off strong, and a growing space-like sound comes in. This track has a few different elements, with the funky percussions giving it a bit of a tech-house vibe paired with the darker eeriness of the intergalactic sound effects.
