Patrick Hagenaar steps up for one of the most anticipated Zulu releases of 2016. The Dutch producer and DJ is no stranger to My Digital Enemy’s underground house label, as he’s released on it twice now. Way ahead of its time, ‘Love Rhythm’ boasts a futuristic house vibe from the start, it’s grinding bassline will have you wondering which direction the sound will move in next, as Hagenaar keeps you guessing throughout. There’s no wonder the likes of Benny Benassi, Michael Woods, Tiesto and Hardwell have been supporting the record, it’s been gaining plays around the circuit nicely and it isn’t about to stop yet.
90’s clanging keys and synths will have you reminiscing a small dingy underground rave in no time. However, Patrick Hagenaar’s amazing ability to explore several genres throughout one track soon takes hold. The build-ups turn into a euphoric, hands-in-the-air trance break down with a killer vocal hook. As the garage beat turns into a hard-hitting jackin house rhythm, the futuristic vibes take hold yet again.
A grungy backing of bass that makes you screw your face up completely takes over, as the heavy production takes you on a path of undiscovered house. Zulu and Hagenaar break genre boundaries here, and we can’t get enough of it.
