L’Tric - L’Tric – This Feeling

Two dance music community heavyweights – Ivan Gough and Sgt Slick, the hit makers who brought you grammy nominated “In my mind” and “Everyday”

Australia’s first and most accomplished dance music exports have combined their considerable dancefloor powers for a brand new studio project called L’Tric!

Signed to Positiva / Virgin via Neon Records the two producers have drawn inspiration from their heady dance music days of the 90s coming with this brilliant feel good throwback piano vocal house track with vocals from uk vocalist steve edwards

Ivan, who is widely regarded as one of Australia’s first and most accomplished dance music exports, is behind some of electronica’s biggest anthems. A pioneer in the game, he’s responsible for putting Australia’s progressive house culture on the global map – from Ibiza to New York, Canada to the UK and everywhere in between. Ivan can boast having a string of timeless releases under his belt, including his smashes with TV ROCK such as “Been A Long Time”, Axwell favourite “In The Air” and ARIA award winning “Flaunt It”. Other collaborations include the Size/Neon co-releases “Noxu”, “Kukatu” & “Boom” plus the Grammy nominated, ARIA & APRA Award winning “In My Mind” (alongside Feenixpawl and Georgi K), which was without doubt, one of 2012’s biggest EDM records; a staple in the Swedish House Mafia sets through their final World tour.

The past 10 years have seen the steady ascendancy of Melbourne’s Andy Jaimes into the upper echelon of Australia and the rest of the World’s premiere DJs, producers and remixers. Better know under his Sgt Slick moniker, the level of his consistency in the studio, coupled with his unwavering motivation and dedication on the decks has made him the go-to-guy in all three dance music categories. Andy is behind some of the genre’s all time mega releases, dominating the coveted Beatport Top 10 Chart with records like “Everyday” and “Like This” plus club smashes like the ARIA Award winning “White Treble, Black Bass” and ARIA # 1  “Automatic Machine”. Always pushing the envelope, now L.A. based Andy continues to play a leading role in shaping and crafting the quality output of L.A.’s “MyVice” production house and is forging his path across the US with a string of high profiling headlining gigs.

Despite crossing paths frequently as DJs, as artists signed to the same record labels and being out and about in Australia’s heaving club scene, Ivan and Andy had never collaborated musically until one hot afternoon in Los Angeles, where they decided to jump in the studio together to ‘see what would happen’. After 5 hours, the magic started to take shape and they had the first draft of a piano-driven, old skool house cut that harked back to the days when they both started DJing. Fast-forward 2 months and after sending project files back and forth between Melbourne and L.A. and road testing all across Australia and the US, the boys had their as yet untitled debut release.

By chance, the instrumental track landed in the hands of legendary UK vocalist Steve Edwards, who shortly after hearing it, threw down an A grade, feel-good vocal hook in a throwback 90’s house style, instantly sealing the deal on the track and giving it it’s title, “This Feeling”. The dynamic duo that is now L’Tric, continue to collaborate from opposite ends of the Pacific and are working on a number of vocal-based releases, alongside the more underground sounds that first drew them into the world of house music.
