Cutting his teeth on the early UK garage scene, Lucas Alexander brings his swinging beats and deep garage house chops to Richy Ahmed’s 432 imprint with the ‘FM Dial’ single, backed with collaborations with Joey Rich, Harrie Summers, Fernquest, and a rather tasty Seb Zito remix.
His recent productions have been cropping up on labels like Darius Syrossian’s MOXY MUZIK label, Ben Rau’s META, and Maya Jane Coles’ HE.SHE.THEY, and been receiving big club support from the likes of Richy Ahmed, Patrick Topping, DJ Deeon and Jamie Jones.
‘FM Dial’ leads this bustling package with some chunky old school flavours. An ode to the pirate radio station days, hefty beats and tubular bass gift the groove, as time stretched vocals and spin backs create the party vibe! Seb Zito follows up a run of exceptional releases for Eats Everything’s Edible label, Revival New York and his own Seven Dials Records by pulling out a cheeky shuffling and minimal remix for the heads!
Produced alongside Joey Rich and Harrie Summers, ‘Move It’ lays down some stout beats and contagious chords for a deep and hypnotizing jam, whilst ‘Itchy Feet’ closes the release with help from Fernquest, who waxes lyrical (as well as some nifty whistling) over an angular production that keeps the funk with aplomb.
Lucas Alexander ‘FM Dial’ EP is OUT NOW on Four Thirty Two.
