Radicals is proud to present British house DJ Luke Solomon on Bank holiday weekend Saturday 23rd May for a very special 6 month anniversary half birthday bash.No-one could debate Luke Solomon’s dance music credentials. From setting up the seminal label Classic Recordings with Derrick Carter to taking quirky house to the UK Top 10 and international charts, with his band freaks, to DJing around the globe and performing live, Luke has been there for many of the more interesting 4/4 moments of the last decade.
Striding into his third musical decade, Luke Solomon’s influence stretches far and wide across a scene that’s been embedded in his DNA since the early 90s. The rebirth of Classic Records in recent times has brought one of the UK’s most intriguing and respected artists to new audiences, ensuring his fingerprints remain indelibly imprinted on house music.
Resident Advisor noted of his recent album “It candidly advertises the joy Solomon takes in making music, a rumbunctious, far-reaching extension of his DJ sets, unshackled from the sonic confines of the club.”
We’re delighted Luke is joining us for this very special party to commemorate the incarnation of Radicals. Named after the many Radical Islington movements including punk, feminism and anarchism, Radicals has quickly bludgeoned its way into the hearts of the Islington massive.
Big on beer, great at cocktails & with an atmosphere to get the most hardened frowns turned upside down, we have quickly become known for putting on a party. So who better to celebrate our 1/2 year birthday than with one of dance music’s most unsung heroes.
With support from rising star Chamboché. They will no doubt smash Radicals into dance music folklore.
