Maggie Tra Teases Single ‘For The Ride’ Ahead Of Her 4th Album Release

Electronic music Producer/DJ Maggie Tra teases new single ‘For The Ride’ ahead of her fourth album drop.

‘For The Ride’ is a track that delves into her experiences living in Vietnam and reliving the joys of being on the motorbike around Saigon, Vietnam.

With field recordings from Grab bikes, coupled with a bass-line that keeps listeners grooving, the fun-filled track is a nostalgic journey that takes the music producer into parallel words of what she imagines her parents lived through before migrating to Australia.

On the single, Tra said, “The track symbolises, moving spaces and countries quite literally on a motorbike around Vietnam. The pulsating bass represents the anticipation of a life filled with simplicity but also hope into a better future migrating to Australia,”

“We don’t talk enough about what our parents went through before they moved here, what they left and what they lost. I’d like to think they miss the days of just riding a motorbike through the country side or just to see their friends in their homes. This tune is a homage to them and what they sacrificed to build a life here,”

The single is off her upcoming fourth album release ‘Cycle Theory’ which drops on the 9th of October. The album will explore themes of living in Vietnam, the complexities of being Asian diaspora moving back to her heritage country and themes of belonging.

Her album launch will be held at Golden Age Cinema & Bar on the 11th October with support from Dis Dutchkiss & MSG.
