Magic Door returns to Boxxed

Returning to Birmingham’s Boxxed on Friday November 27th and for a New Year’s extravaganza, A Space Oddity 2015.

Magic Door once more will conjure an enchanting odyssey of dance floor mayhem, thrilling hedonistic fun and find everyone transformed from the mundane into the distinctly and theatrically glittery. On arrival each guest takes a magic bean which grants access to the Crafty Girls and their creative skills – once their transformation is complete, entry back into the Magic Door world is made down a slide, straight onto the dance floor.

Jit Patel, one of Magic Door’s founders, explains that: “We are back at Boxxed at the end of November for another huge Magic Door party. In September we raised the bar even higher, and this forthcoming party will be even better. We always seek to improve, refine and enhance for each show. This time, we have got a mystical, magical forest theme and the venue will be an enchanted woodland, where all kinds of strange and wondrous happenings will take place. Again will be bringing our vibrant cast of entertainers, make-up artists and production people to create an incredible adventure for everyone.”

With two years of fully pre-sold out NYE parties behind them, Magic Door will be closing the year again with for an outrageous and spectacular show – A Space Oddity 2015.

As the name suggests, the guys are going all cosmic with a Magic Door twist. Expect an array of mind bending productions and visuals, lots of bendy space characters and music to take you into to the outer echelons of the galaxy and back. Venue wise it is a secret for now, but rest assured it’s going to be the first ever party in a stunning new, multi-room, warehouse space in the heart of Digbeth. There will also be an intimate after party in the loft space of Alfie Birds which is a short stroll away.

A kaleidoscopic cast of characters work on the dance floor, behind the scenes and in the nooks and crannies at each Magic Door event, with extra effort and emphasis invested in the detail. Each Magic Door features secret guest DJs announced on the night, and their usual signature disco-techno and spooky house sounds in the main room; disco, funk and randomness in the other areas including the now infamous disco caravan. Plus there’s the Crafty Girls, Magic Beans, G.o.D, The Devil and more glitter, wigs, capes, general ridiculousness and more costume-based paraphernalia than is really necessary.
