Ahead of a forthcoming release via MistaJam’s Speakerbox imprint & Public Demand Records, Majestic has announced new single ‘Creeping In The Dark’, complete with an excellent new mix from legendary ‘Nice ‘N Ripe’ label head Grant Nelson.
With the bouncy, peaktime flow of Majestic’s original mix having already made a notable impression since first surfacing in 2013, mysterious, CGI-animated lyricist Jungle 70 provides a textbook garage flow that feels just as measured and potent over Nelson’s freshly-cut rework. Opening his edit with a string-led intro before deploying rumbling, warehouse-ready bass licks and added vocoder FX, Nelson adds a welcome old-school twist to Majestic’s original mix.
With a further mix from Armand van Helden acknowledging that whilst ‘Creeping In The Dark’ retains a distinctly UK accent, it’s reach is now definitively global, Nelson ultimately joins the dots between the formation and subsequent evolution of the UK garage sound.
