With their new single ‘Oh Baby’ due out 22nd February on Shy FX’s Digital Soundboy, Leeds duo Mak & Pasteman drop a jungle inspired rework from London-based DJ/producer Mella Dee.
Renowned as the UK’s leading rave revivalist, Ryan Aitchinson aka Mella Dee’s classic throwback sound transforms ‘Oh Baby’ into a menacing, siren-laced cut peppered with rave shout-outs to take it in an altogether darker direction. Another new addition to the Digital Soundboy stable, Mella Dee’s recent eight track beat-tape for the label titled ‘Rhythm Nation Vol. 1’ showcased a producer at the top of his game.
Mak & Pasteman quickly drew widespread support from the likes of Loefah, Annie Mac and Jackmaster for their initial releases on Breach’s Naked Naked label and Redlight’s Lobster Boy, before putting out last year’s run of EPs on their own Materials imprint. Welcoming in 2015 with their new single, the Leeds duo now join the likes Breakage, Dismantle & B Traits for their debut on the flourishing Digital Soundboy label.
Catch Mak & Pasteman at London’s XOYO on March 6th 2015 alongside Radio 1 resident Hannah Wants, Rinse FM stalwart DJ Zinc and Northamptonshire newcomers Just Kiddin.
