Following an impressive run of releases for the LA-based producer already this year, MANTi’s two-track Redux EP is out now via the esteemed Mexican imprint.
Currently enjoying her most abundant year in the studio to date, 2024 has represented something of a breakthrough year for LA-based, Iranian producer MANTi. With a string of critically acclaimed releases on some of the industry’s most respected labels already clocked over the past nine months, Mana Nabati now continues her stellar run of form into the back end of the year, as she announces her latest two-track offering, Redux EP.
Out now via burgeoning Mexican label Motivant Records, the dynamic two-track EP marks another impressive label debut for the in-demand producer and follows an enviable run of releases on the likes of Automatik, Kiosk I.D., Marginalia, Zamna, Elektrons, New Tab, Akumandra and Ear Porn, amongst others, this year.
The EP kicks off with imposing title track ‘Redux’; an absolutely captivating composition characterised by myriad samples and complex polyrhythms dancing around a piercing central synth refrain. MANTi’s deft production skills shine front and centre on this latest peak time weapon, with ever-progressing layers of synth work and intricately manipulated textures converging as she delivers one of her most majestic and emotionally mature offerings to date.
On the flip, we’re treated to the rumbling follow up, ‘Verboten’. From the very first beat, the b-side sets a contemplative and introspective mood, instantly taking the audience on a journey of sonic reverie. The interplay of chugging bass and stark synth stabs creates an otherworldly atmosphere, evoking feelings of weightlessness and suspended time. Gradually building in intensity, the track swells with emotion, pulling the listener deeper into its mesmerizing embrace as MANTi closes out her Motivant debut in style.
Originally hailing from Tehran, MANTi is a boundary-pushing DJ and producer who has crafted her unique sound through an immersive education in Music Production & Sound Design at Point Blank Los Angeles. Her sonic journey is characterized by deep, melodic, and atmospheric compositions, featuring resonant basslines and vibrant synths. Throughout her career, MANTi has released on some of the scene’s most respected labels, and has shared the decks with titans of the industry, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Cirez D, Adriatique, Mathame, Kevin de Vries, Woo York, and many more.
