Marcel Reix fires out huge techno missiles on his new ‘Ancient Mood’ LP

Exclusive Listen of ‘Bohemian Grove’

Fire & Fog Recordings are happy to present a new album from boss man Marcel Reix.

This Venezuelan-Spanish has turned heads with his powerful techno sounds, and giants like Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola and Dubfire have all played them in the past. He’s released on MB Electronic (Marco Bailey), Stereo Productions (Chus & Ceballos), Kraftek (Pleasurekraft) and many more labels. Now he builds on his fine Eps with an expressive album that explores evocative, club ready techno in fine style.

The surging Square opens things with driving techno drums and then Leben keeps up the pressure with more warm, rubber kicks and spaced out pads. Forgetting is a perfectly atmospheric tune that is stripped back to the essentials but oozes drum funk then Bohemian Grove traps you in a trance with its train track grooves and well crafted synths.

Forceful rollers like Organic and Roller Coaster keep you on your toes and lost in the lush loops, while Rumble has sharp hi hats gaining in the air above heavyweight drums.Ghosting and Ancient Mood close things down with hammering kicks and deft pads.

This is a compelling album of perfectly distilled, warehouse rattling techno.
