Legendary bass maestro Datsik returns to take names and slay dance floors on his latest "Master of Shadows" EP, and it is quite possibly his finest piece of work yet. The EP is chock full of the next generation bass bombs that Datsik has become famous for, and as always he has some surprises up his sleeve in the form of massive collaborations and an ever-evolving sound. One such standout is the EP's opening track "Pressure Plates," a triumphant, thrilling journey that is expertly balanced with a throbbing bassline and Datsik's trademark wobbles. Datsik gives us a strong dose of his signature rap-and-bass fusion on "Bad Behavior" and "You've Changed," both of which feature show-stopping rap lyricism and basslines that were made for the festival stage. The EP features both new talent and familiar names, including Virtual Riot, Ganja White Night, Excision and Dion Timmer, and more. The "Master of Shadows" release kicks off Datsik's 55+ stop Ninja Nation tour, so be sure to catch him in a city near you!
The Canadian, Los Angeles based DJ and producer has been a mainstay in the electronic music industry since he first exploded onto the scene in 2009 with his Boom EP, and ever since has made sure that no one will forget his name. Datsik's illustrious career has seen the heights of success, from his instantly recognizable track "No Escape" on Excision's Rottun Recordings to countless releases on his own Firepower imprint. For Datsik, his Firepower label serves as an emulation of his revered and infamous musical persona. As he continues to build his legacy, Datsik has been investing time in up-and-coming artists on Firepower while maintaining his intensive touring and studio schedule. No matter what Datsik does next, rest assured it will be positively on fire.
