Mat Zo releases MAD EP and announces new North American tour dates

Mat Zo returns with a frenzied new project, aptly titled MAD. The EP is just that, sonic landscapes uncontainable by modern electronic music standards. The forthcoming project is Matan Zohar testing limits yet again, treating production masterfully while pushing tempo towards a glass ceiling with precision. Where his previous work has leaned toward the house end of the spectrum, Mat Zo veers towards broken-beat for his latest.

Easing into things, “Troglodyte” serves as the calm before the storm, a delicate introduction that builds with a teaser of what’s in store for listeners. The Foreign Beggars collaboration “Take It Back,” premiered exclusively by Zane Lowe on his Beats1 radio show, follows with a straight plunge into the calculated chaos before the title track “MAD” brings the project’s aesthetic full circle.

“MAD” is out today via Mat Zo’s own Mad Zoo label. Fans have a chance to hear the new material live on his MAD TOUR, which kicked off this month with a packed set at Nocturnal Wonderland, and will stop through major cities like New York, Vancouver and Boston before concluding in Los Angeles in November.
