Matroda makes his way back over to Insomniac Records with another dancefloor anthem arriving in the shape of his new single “Throw Your Hands.”
Croatian heavyweight Matroda is a machine when it comes to churning out high-grade house music, maintaining a relentless output that ranges from uplifting piano house to muscular tech grooves. Even though the dancefloor is still buzzing from his most recent appearance on the Insomniac imprint, “Saturday Love” in tandem with Slovenian’s rapidly rising producer Dino DZ. Built around a hook borrowed from an ‘80s soul classic, the track has already amassed nearly a quarter of a million streams in less than a month, and he’s already returning to the label with another certified anthem.
This time around, he’s given the nod to the party-starting hook of “ATLiens,” the title track from the sophomore album of the groundbreaking rap duo Outkast. With its fitting title “Throw Your Hands,” the tech house banger hinges on a commanding vocal loop borrowed from the unforgettable chorus, which is repeated, chopped up, and strewn across shuffling drums, his signature recoiling basslines, sporadic snare rolls, and hypnotic flute melodies adding texture to the unyielding bounce.
His new single is being bundled onto the official ‘EDC Las Vegas 2023’ compilation album, claiming the coveted #2 spot alongside more than 70 other essential selections from a fair chunk of the artists featured on the slammed lineup. It’s the perfect lead up to his highly anticipated return to the three-day festival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and arrives immediately on the back of his debut headline show at the iconic Hollywood Palladium, which sold out weeks in advance.
“Throw Your Hands” further solidifies his status as the current undisputed champion of the house scene, as Matroda continues to push boundaries and please crowds with each and every release.
