Matt Hawk Challenges Listeners with “SKELETON” To Add To His Low-Tempo, Urban/EDM “Car Music” Repertoire

Danish artist and the “Car Music” movement foreman Matt Hawk returns with his newest release – “SKELETON,” a unique heater with both emotive and hard-hitting elements. Opening with ominous melodies that meld into a deep, undulating bassline with dark synths and menacing vocals throughout, Hawk steps out on a ledge with the driving style of the track while staying in his element of the “Car Music” genre. “SKELETON” is both low-fi urban and also bass-heavy EDM influenced, making it a versatile record that will also make the listener feel the darkness behind the lyrics while amping up the energy a few notches. Hawk previously released “Hood To The Hills” with his fellow Danish partner in crime – HEDEGAARD, back in March, and “SKELETON” is another strong track from this talented artist. “The process was a bit different than usual, which ended in a very interesting result. While it exists within the familiar universe of my musical style of low-tempo EDM/urban sound, the production of ‘SKELETON‘ drives the energy forward, where the theme and message touch a more emotional journey and invite the listener to visit sublayers of the mind. It was important for me to maintain a recognizable signature in my music while experimenting with new sounds and moods. Matt Hawk, the next big star in Car Music, is all about minimalism and genre clashes – two things that make him stand out from other DJs. The 33-year-old art director from Aalborg, Denmark, started dreaming of a music career in his teens when he began mixing styles and genres in his creation of new and unique productions. Today, his dream has come true, and he is producing hits with Denmark‘s most prominent DJs. In collaboration with HEDEGAARD, Matt Hawk has produced and released the single “SA-MY-D,” which is closing in on 8 million streams on Spotify alone, while their joint remix of the rap classic “Ni**as in Paris” has surpassed the 4,5 million stream mark on the platform. A constant curiosity and the untamable urge to create means that he is, again and again, which has never been combined before. On the single “SYMPHONY,” he reworked Beethoven‘s classic “Symphony no. 5,” generating an output that contains a magical combination of Nate Dogg-sounding vocals combined with all the best elements from the heavy club universe of the Car Music genre. It debuted on the weekly QQ Music EDM Chart in China as no. 21 and has amassed more than 4,5 million streams on Spotify since then, reaching 1 million streams within the first 40 days in the market. The follow-up single, “GANG GANG,” was also built on a Beethoven sample from the classical masterpiece “Für Elise.” The latest single, “OneHundred,” was created with his label buddies HEDEGAARD and CANCUN? and was produced without the use of samples. The single reached 1 million streams within the first 20 days in the market and became Matt Hawk‘s first Top 20 single on the QQ Music EDM Chart in China, debuting as no. 17. His latest release, “Hood To The Hills,” also went in Top 20 on QQ Music EDM Chart.
