Riding the momentum of his first two releases, Chicago born Mattheo (Matthias Mehrpuyan) is back with his third instalment – ‘Uncertain’. Inspired by the 90’s rave era, ‘Uncertain’ is a captivating breakbeat banger, with a distinctive bassline and euphoric vocals. With previous support from Anna Lunoe, Tommie Sunshine and AmyElle with numerous radio plays on Kiss and Rex Radio, each release continues to exhibit the sophisticated production abilities of the emerging producer.
Of the track Mattheo says: “‘Uncertain’ is a bit more unhinged with its stabby bassline and catchy melodic hook, both driven by the warm analog sound of Roland’s SE-02. The track was created with no strings attached, letting loose, and being completely uncertain of what the outcome may be.”
Mattheo amalgamates his Chicago roots with a nostalgic nod to the early 90’s rave scene, combining articulate breakbeats and layered textures with his own unique modern-day studio techniques. Paying close attention to telling a story through rolling melodic bass lines and cutting vocals, his productions sit comfortably alongside the likes of Bicep, Dusky and Four Tet.
Having already played key shows with Joris Voorn, Gui Boratto, Dusky and more recently Anden, along with his recent appointment as a resident DJ at Primary Chicago, expect a steady flow of consistently high calibre releases from Mattheo.
