Matthias Tanzmann, Sven Tasnadi – Daytona (MHD089)

Moon Harbour label boss Matthias Tanzmann has been collaborating with fellow Leipzig artist Sven Tasnadi for many years. Now, the dream team is back together for a brand-new single that finds them both in fine form.

The work of these two artists has very much defined not only the Moon Harbour sound but the essence of Tech-House over the last 15 plus years. They have both put out exemplary full-lengths on this label, Tanzmann most recently with Round And Round late last year, and Tasnadi with Bridges in 2018, and when they come together in the studio they find a real sweet spot between the drive of tech and emotion of house.

The excellent ‘Daytona’ is a case in point: it has warm, hypnotic drums that swing low and immediately pull you in while the icy hi-hats glide along up top. Subtle synths rise and fall through them, with breaks and fills adding the essential details that make this such a standout tune. As the chords and keys colour in the second half, the club is sure to remain locked into this most perfectly designed and silky groove.

Once again then these two have come correct.
