San Franciscan producer Giraffage has unveiled his new single ‘Maybes’, taken from his forthcoming debut album, Too Real. A collaboration with in-demand singer songwriter Japanese Breakfast, the track is set for release on the 13th September via Counter Records, and follows on from his successful first single from the album, ‘Slowly.’
Combining a soft build with Michelle Zauner's airy vocals, the combination of soft piano chords, chopped vocal melodies and electro breakdown make for an upbeat, festival-ready track.
Meanwhile, Japanese Breakfast’s recently released second studio album Soft Sounds from Another Planet has been the subject of high critical acclaim, with ‘Maybes’ acting
as the perfect blend of both artist’s unique kaleidoscopic beats, and dreamy synth-pop melodies.
Too Real, due out on 20th October, acts as an embodiment of the producer’s personal journey of self healing, with each song representing a different period in his life. “‘This some of the best music I’ve ever written,” says Giraffage. “The album was written from 2015 – 2017 during a dark period of my life. So finally finishing it was a rather cathartic experience and I’m excited for what the future may hold.”
‘Maybes’ production precedes Giraffage’s 30-date ‘Too Real’ North America tour which kicks off on 25th October in Washington, and ends on 14th December 14th in Atlanta.
