Jamie Roy & Makanan - Mediterranic

Phonetic welcome Jamie Roy to the label. Jamie first discovered house music at the age 14 after his brother played him records from both Green Velvet & DJ Sneak. Green Velvets use of eclectic vocals along with Sneaks badass groove were enough to get him hooked.

Having spent two summers based in Ibiza Jamie’s profile status is rapidly growing. With a residency at Ibiza Rocks Hotel, frequent gigs at Pikes Hotel for the invite only Idris Elba shows, Sankeys Ibiza and the San Antonio event ‘Departure’.

As if that wasn’t enough, he has just finished touring with one of our Phonetic protégé’s Hot Since 82, warming the crowd up before Daley comes on. Jamie’s production journey began only 4 years ago. Keeping his mind open to genres and styles his recent work has been championed by the likes of Solomun, Sasha, Nic Fancuilli, Doorly, Amine Edge & Denny to name a few.

Here Jamie teams up with Makanan tp deliver the wicked new MEDITERRANIC EP that tilts it’s cap to those Techno/Tech House edged dancefloors and does it with class. Early tastemaker feedback has stamped home Jamie Roy is one to watch, with a 3 track EP on SKREAM’S new imprint also doing the rounds.
