Unique 3-day metro-festival Budafest has launched its 2018 event with the huge headline names, Richy Ahmed, Skream, Solardo, Camelphat, Artwork and B. Traits with more to be announced. In total, 50 acts from house, tech-house, techno, deep, garage and bass will play from Sunday 26th to Tuesday 28th August, at a range of locations in the heart of Budapest, hand-picked as the city’s most intriguing, impressive and wondrous venues. After the success of Budafest’s debut in 2017, demand has seen the festival over double in size. This year 5,000 guests can enjoy a feast of clubs and electronic music, huge, open-deck boat parties, a spa party and pub crawls, as well as the culture of one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. Festival-goers can explore the city by day and party all night at incredible venues such as Otkert, Akvarium, Fogashaz and Szechenyi Spa. Budafest embraces the essence of this spectacular city to deliver an unforgettable experience, alongside crowds of like-minded people. Tickets start from only £99 from www.budafest.com, with £50 deposit.

Budafest launched in 2017 and word quickly spread about this metro-festival with a difference, set in the stunning surroundings of Budapest. Ruin bars, thermal spas, concert halls and thousand capacity boat parties immediately set this event apart. Fast-forward to 2018 and those original 1,850 party people have grown to 5,000, ready to enjoy the unique experience of Budafest.

The Budafest line up of headliners is as spectacular as the city itself. Hot Creations stalwart and leading light of the global house scene, Richy Ahmed takes to the turntables and will show why his skills are in demand from the Panorama Bar in Berlin to DC-10 in Ibiza, and everywhere in between. Skream needs little introduction. The genre-bending DJ/producer is renowned as one of the leading names in house and techno. Always in demand and always delivers, Skream at Budafest is a truly mouthwatering prospect. As a producer he’s also appeared on the likes of Circus, Crosstown Rebels, FFRR and more. Get there early for this one. Mancunian duo, Solardo are one of the hottest names out there right now, with releases on Hot Creations and Toolroom, as well as DJ sets at Glastonbury, Lovebox, Bestival and many more. They bring their unique brand of deep, 4/4 grooves to the stunning Budafest surroundings. Camelphat also step up to the decks. The talented duo were behind one of last year’s biggest crossover tracks, ‘Cola’. They’ve graced the turntables at Fabric, Ministry, WeAreFSTVL, Creamfields and many more. Expect a massive set at Budafest. Also lining up is Artwork, the highly respected and hugely versatile DJ who mixes up everything from disco to techno, creating a dancefloor vibe like no other. With a massive 13 date XOYO residency kicking off 2018, Artwork will be well and truly ready for the Budafest crowds. Expect the unexpected when B.Traits takes charge. Always evolving, her sound takes in everything from bass to european techno. Now an integral part of BBC Radio 1’s legendary Friday night lineup, B. Traits is tearing up dancefloors around the world.

By day, Budafest attendees can explore the city on their own, or can join in the optional scheduled activities, including pub crawls – a great way to see the city, boat parties – a highlight of 2017, with a 1000 capacity, open-deck miniature ferry offering unparalleled vibes and views, and the Szechenyi Spa – the perfect way to handle a hangover – relax in the thermal baths, laze in the sunshine, then hit the sauna and steam rooms.

At night, Budafest comes alive, as guests move between the mind-blowing venues, all walking distance from each other, to enjoy world-class DJs. Otkert is a converted ruin bar with open-air atrium and possibly the coolest VIP area in Budapest. Akvarium is one of the city’s most credible concert halls, located under a giant glass ceiling with water feature above. It also brings the festival vibes with a huge outdoor terrace. Fogashaz is the quirkiest ruin bar to be found anywhere in Budapest. With a maze of secret rooms, terraces and dancefloors, this is a trip down the rabbit hole.
A must-do optional extra is the Spa Party where one of the biggest and most visually impressive thermal spas in Europe is transformed into a party haven. Don’t forget your swimwear.

Alongside the world-class DJs, expect some visually stunning events hosted by renowned concept-driven brands including, Festival Of The Dead, The Psychedelic Funhouse, Carnival Of Light, Foreverland, Dazed and more.
