Metro-festival ‘Spring Break Amsterdam 2018’ adds fourth wave names

Spring Break Amsterdam is the ultimate way to experience everything the bustling European city has to offer in one thrilling three-day package and now, due to overwhelming interest and record ticket sales, an extra venue and more acts have been added to say thank you to festival-goers. Taking place from 8th April to Tuesday 10th April 2018, the latest wave of names includes Sub Focus, Detlef, Culture Shock & 2Shy MC, Tom Shorterz, Chimpo, Krakota & Dynamite MC, Vato Gonzalez, Paradox City, Klose One and Josh Parkinson, on top of already announced names like Chase & Status (DJ Set), Wiley, Big Narstie, My Nu Leng, CamelPhat, Sam Divine, DJ Luck & MC Neat, Jaguar Skills and many more. It means there are now more than 50 acts scheduled to play five of Amsterdam’s leading venues—Melkweg, Air, Escape, Club NYX and latest addition, Claire.

What started as a small collective of 400 people heading to Amsterdam has now exploded into one of Europe’s must-visit festival experiences with an expected 7,000 people partying at Spring Break in 2018. Next to the night time activities, by day the metro-festivalallows revelers to explore and discover the extensive art, culture, museums, cafés and everything else that makes the ‘Dam one of Europe’s most visited cities. The newly added venue, Claire, is a real underground pillar of the vital local scene. Regularly hosting cult figures like Omar S and Loefah, it is located in the city centre on Rembrandt Square and boats two rooms with wooden floors, vibrant colours and a high spec sound system.

As for the new names, first up is drum & bass icon Sub Focus, a diverse artist who has come to epitomise the 'anything goes' mantra of today’s flourishing dance scene. For contemporary tech house look no further than the taste-making VIVa MUSiC and Moon Harbour artist Detlef. Drum & bass comes from Culture Shock with 2Shy MC, who has become a mainstay of the genre over the last ten years and is now a core part of the Ram Records label with his springy and darkly compelling sound.

Joining is Tom Shortez, very much a key part of the Birmingham scene and a DJ and producer with a chunky house and tech sound that rattles ribs with its heavy bass and has made him a Rinse FM regular. Then comes another Rinse FM regular, Klose One, a technically gifted DJ who is part of the cult Swamp 81 family, plus Dutchman Vato Gonzalez, curator of the Dirty House mixtape series and bringing a future bass sound.

Lastly for this announcement comes fun house and techno party starters Paradox City; bass music star Chimpo who mixes up grime, drum & bass, dubstep, trap, garage, dancehall and hip hop in both the DJ booth and the studio to create devastating soundtracks;Krakota & Dynamite MC the Hospital Records associate and skilled three-deck DJ who regularly plays key events like Glastonbury and Outlook, plus DJ and MC extraordinaire, Josh Parkinson.

Those looking to get even more out of their trip can look forward to partying extras. These include a four-hour boat party, a guided pub crawl with free shots, and a VIP upgrade with exclusive VIP areas in each venue, per night.

Tickets for Spring Break Amsterdam have now sold out but those lucky enough to have bagged a place can look forward to a city break of discovery, mad parties with quality music, all alongside thousands of like-minded party people.
