Long time Moon Harbour family man Re.You links up with percussionist, drummer, DJ and producer Robert Jankovic for a stunning new single ‘Push Me’ which really rolls deep.
Re.You has been contributing to the evolution of house music for more than 10 years now. A year ago he served up ‘Maison’, his fantastic album on Connected, and late in 2020 the man born Marius Maier released his latest steamy single ‘The Night We Met’ on this label. He is an artist who continually tweaks his sound with each new outing on labels like Kompakt and Mobilee, and does so again here with Jankovic. The fellow German does everything from drifting percussive beats to more gritty tech and everything in between.
The sublime ‘Push Me’ finds the pair laying down pinging kick drums with well swung, dry hits up top. That combo immediately gets you in the groove, and the majestic synth leads add a sense of subtle spirituality. As they lock you deeper into this most atmospheric and mysterious of tracks, distant vocal calls drift by to bring more exotic flavours.
There is plenty of rich musicality in ‘Push Me’ which will always stand it out in any set.
