Michelle Sparks Drops Huge Remix of Dusty Kid & Marascia – WIWY

Following a swathe of critically acclaimed releases on the likes of Octopus Recordings, Press Play, Weekend Weapons and DNCTRX over the course of her illustrious musical career, prolific US techno maven Michelle Sparks has got the production credentials to rival some of the best in the business. Now, and as she looks to continue her inexhaustible run of first-rate studio output, Michelle adds to her already stellar career discography with an exquisite official remix for Dusty Kid & Marascia’s iconic 2009 cut, WIWY.

Out now via internationally lauded, LA-based imprint, Octopus Recordings – a label which she has come to call home over the past few years – Sparks pulls out all the stops for another landmark release, combining an expert amalgamation of luscious, rolling basslines, intricately layered drum patterns and sweeping euphoric breakdowns, to deliver a melodic techno weapon of gargantuan proportions.

Projecting a forward-leaning sound infused with deep musicality and raw, stripped-back minimalism, Michelle’s productions display a hyper-focused and extraordinarily skilled artist, intent on pushing the envelope. Recognised across the industry for her uniquely atmospheric and futuristic sonic palate, her innate ability to synergize complex textures with underground rave aesthetics is second to none, as she continues to explore the limitless boundaries of techno with her trademark minimal grooves and dark, stirring melodies.

“WIWY is a masterpiece and one of my all time favorite Dusty Kid tracks, so I was absolutely ecstatic when I was given the opportunity to create an official remix. I had to dig deep to take it to another level as I wanted to bring a fresh, emotional feel whilst still retaining that dancefloor groove, but I’m really happy with the end result. It really was an amazing honor to remix such a classic and bring it into 2021.”
