Hot on the heels of their recent single “FIDELITY”, Australian disco/dance-pop duo Midnight Pool Party are back with a powerful new track, “WHAT AM I GONNA DO?” — a shimmering anthem that’s as emotionally raw as it is dancefloor-ready.
While the song brings the duo’s signature upbeat grooves and feel-good production, its lyrical content dives into murkier emotional territory. It explores the internal struggle of waiting for someone who’s unsure about being with you, and whether it’s better to hold on or let go.
“This song is about questioning if you will wait for someone who isn’t sure that they want to be with you, or if you should just move on and do your own thing. After speaking with Ollie about recent events in his life, and personal issues, I (Darren) wanted to put myself in his shoes and write from his perspective. Although exaggerated in many ways, just like all our songs, it’s definitely inspired by real life events.” – Midnight Pool Party
“WHAT AM I GONNA DO?” delivers a perfect balance of vulnerability and euphoria, combining slick disco textures, house-inspired beats, and relatable storytelling. It’s another step forward in Midnight Pool Party’s evolution.
