Northern UK house masters Miguel Campbell and Jimmy Switch collaborate on Skint Records to present a two-track release of classic and future thinking sounds, harnessed by their contrasting individual styles.
“We have been excited about this release as it is our first extended play record together. We have been working hard in the studio over the last 12 months, producing music and having a great time. Although both of our unique production values are different, our sounds complement each other in many ways and it was fun to experiment, we think you can hear this in the way that the EP turned out.” – Miguel Campbell and Jimmy Switch
Be The Night is defined by a vintage synth that provides a sleek underlay. Robust percussion creates an infectious groove alongside distorted guitar effects and radiant keys in a track that oozes with quality. Flipping to I’ll Be You (Again) the high standards continue, a slow morphing bassline and retro electronics combine with a rhythm of claps, resulting in a peak time deep house anthem for the dancefloor.
Miguel Campbell is a producer and DJ galvanised by the house scene of the early ‘90s. Leading the way with his label Outcross Records, this is now a home for his unique brand of funk, alongside select releases on the world-renowned Hot Creations. As part of the duo MAM working with Matt Hughes he has remixed Imany, Deadmau5 and Flight Facilities. Jimmy Switch has built a reputation as one of the best in the European underground music scene. As one of the first residents of ABODE, alongside residences for Sankeys and Ministry of Sound, he has found his way into the hearts of party-goers across the continent. Jimmy is currently working in the studio on exciting new music following outstanding previous releases on Skint Records, Idris Elba’s 7 Wallace, Origins, Outcross Records and Freakin909.
