Mike Mago & Dragonette – Outlines

Dutch star Mike Mago returns with what’s been hailed as his biggest release to date: ‘Outlines’, featuring Canadian band Dragonette on vocals. Set for release in the UK on the world’s most successful dance label, Ministry of Sound, ‘Outlines’ follows Mago’s previous crossover hit, ‘The Show’, and this summer’s club weapon, ‘Man Hands’.

A recent Hype Machine No.1, ‘Outlines’ has dominated the main Beatport chart for weeks, with major radio support in the UK from a Kiss Fresh playlist (as well as Kiss FM support from Steve Smart, Ray Foxx and more), Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Annie Mac (who premiered the Cyantific remix), Danny Howard, DJ Target, and Greg James (Dance Anthems). The track went straight in at at No.1 on the ultimate tastemakers chart, Cool Cuts, and was the most Shazamed track at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event, as well as having featured in the Shazam UK Top 200 for over a month.

With an impeccable discography, including remixes for artists like Charli XCX, Foxes, Tiësto, Laura Welsh and Years & Years alongside his own tracks, Mike Mago aka Michiel Thomassen is known as one of Amsterdam’s premier producers – and with good reason; his own musical taste and vision has helped shape the city’s clubs and airwaves for several years.

Mago’s 2012 tracks ‘The Power’ and ‘The Soul’, quickly marked him out as a name to watch, but it was his game-changing track  ‘The Show’, that brought him immediate international attention.

After premiering the single via a late-night broadcast on Dutch national radio, DJs including Pete Tong, The Magician, Crookers, Josh Wink and Tensnake soon made ‘The Show’ a staple of their own club sets. In the UK, Radio 1 support quickly followed from Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, Trevor Nelson, Phil Taggart and Alice Levine, MistaJam, Danny Howard, and B.Traits.

Remixes for ‘Outlines’ come from Cyantific, Zoo Station and Chris Lorenzo.
