Early October will see Timmy P deliver his ‘Mind Games’ EP via London’s Lower East, featuring three original compositions from the up and coming artist.
Timmy P’s had a solid 2016 so far with material on labels such as MadTech, Madhouse and Local Talk now firm fixtures in his developing catalogue. Recent shows at Ministry of Sound and Glastonbury and and support from Steve Lawler, Sidney Charles and Detroit Swindle have further cemented him as one to watch right now, here we see him continue his upward trajectory with a new EP for the ever impressive Lower East.
The title track takes the lead and sees Timmy P deliver a retro tinged house number employing howling diva vocals, bumpy bass notes and swinging rhythms alongside hypnotic chord hits and raw stabs. ‘How’s Music’ follows and retains a similarly old school aesthetic with square wave bass chops, tension building strings and a robust rhythmic drive.
Lastly the package is rounded of with ‘Every Move’ produced alongside James Dexter and taking a more low-slung approach via loose, bouncing percussion, warbling synth drones and infectious spoken word vocal lines.
Timmy P’s ‘Mind Games’ EP is out on Lower East 7th October 2016.
