Ministry of Sound and Teenage Cancer Trust team up to party!

Ministry of Sound has announced that Teenage Cancer Trust is its first official charity partner. The legendary home of dance music launched the new partnership in October with the first of many fundraising club nights, which hope to raise £50,000 over 12 months.

The Our House Is Your House club nights will showcase some of the world’s best known dance music artists and the first event kicked off with house and techno legends Defected In The House in November raising almost £3,500. 

World renowned DJ and producer Nicky Romero will be headlining the second event on Saturday 21 December and further club night dates in 2014 will be released in the following months.
Ministry of Sound will raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust through text donations, VIP club experience auctions, meet and greet competitions with superstar DJs and cloakroom and guest list donations.

Jane Ashton, Music Events Manager for Teenage Cancer Trust said: “This is Teenage Cancer Trust’s first ever dance music partnership and it’s a great fit. Not only is music a massive part of teenagers’ lives, but it’s at the heart of our work too. Teenage Cancer Trust brings young people with cancer together so they can support each other and our specialist units can become a home from home for these vulnerable young cancer patients. Our House Is Your House is a lovely interpretation of the work we do. Ministry of Sound’s support will help us continue our vital work making sure young cancer patients are treated as young people first, cancer patients second.”

Teenage Cancer Trust has a long established music heritage and has been producing annual fundraising concerts at the Royal Albert Hall for the past 14 years. The flagship event is curated by the charity’s patron and The Who front man, Roger Daltrey CBE, and has featured some of the world’s biggest names in music and comedy including Paul McCartney, Oasis, Kasabian, The Who, Florence+The Machine, Russell Brand and Tim Minchin. Teenage Cancer Trust also has many ambassadors from the music world such as Example, Noel Gallagher and Lawson.
Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young people with cancer aged between 13 and 24. Teenage Cancer Trust funds and builds specialist units in NHS hospitals and provides dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them. Teenage Cancer Trust also educates young people in schools about cancer to help improve the speed and quality of diagnosis.

The ebay auction runs until Sunday 15 December* and offers the chance to bid for four VIP tickets which include queue jump, a VIP table with house champagne, as well as a meet and greet with Nicky Romero and access all areas passes.
