Darshan Jesrani is a legend in dance music circles. As one half of Metro Area he pretty much wrote the modern disco rule book and now he is back on his own with a new two track package on Chit Chat Records. The tunes are as fresh and colourful as you would expect and both do a fine job.
Mirror Test is up first and is a dazzling and elastic track with nimble drums, majestic keys up top and the sort of feel good vibes and clean and colourful lines that are truly timeless. Filtered vocals come in for extra fire later on and the whole thing really soars as a result. On the flip, Replace Yourself is eight and a half exquisite minutes of popping disco house with great synth lines, warm chords and a cosmic feel that is subtle but suggestive. Together these two tunes mark yet another essential release in the already impeccable discography of this Brooklyn legend.
