Mitch Oliver Debuts On Get Physical Music With ‘Out Of Space’

Montreal-based DJ, remixer, and sound engineer Mitch Oliver is at the forefront of the melodic house movement. With over 2 million Spotify streams, Mitch is on a mission to spread positive vibes and unite people through his music, which has been released on prestigious labels such as Glasgow Underground, Kindisch, and TrybesOf. Known for his ability to blend subtle and sophisticated sounds with impactful grooves, Mitch has played at iconic events such as Burning Man and SXM Festival, as well as key clubs across Europe, North, and South America.

Recently, Mitch made history with a ground-breaking performance at the International de Montgolfières festival in Quebec, becoming the first DJ to play inside a hot air balloon at the event. His ethereal track ‘Out of Space’ was part of this unique set, blending seamlessly with the breath-taking aerial views and adding an otherworldly dimension to the performance. The combination of the track’s atmospheric soundscape and the surreal experience of floating in the sky left an unforgettable mark on attendees.

The wonderful ‘Out of Space’ is a deep but dynamic piece with a great sense of drama. The twinkling keys bring a cosmic scale, while spoken words – recorded and pitched down by Mitch himself – add layers of thoughtfulness. The bold bassline powers the whole experience along, creating a well-crafted and characterful sound that makes a brilliantly physical and emotional mark. The pluck melody, which Mitch composed early in the creative process, weaves its way through the entire song, mesmerizing the listener. This melody, paired with a simple yet effective groove, infuses the track with a happy vibe that contrasts beautifully with its intense and somewhat melancholic theme.

The theme of ‘Out of Space’ reflects the feeling of lacking time in our highly connected era. Mitch aimed to express the need for space – to breathe, to move, and to let ideas flow. He notes, “To be creative, we need space and time. If we don’t give ourselves this space and time, it becomes impossible not only to live healthily but also to have creative ideas.” This idea is encapsulated in the track’s title and lyrics, reflecting the reality of our society today. The lines “Out of Space” and “Out of Time” highlight the need for mental clarity and perspective, while “Gotta Run” emphasizes the importance of physical movement for mental well-being.

Heavily supported by the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge, Kevin McKay, Danny Tenaglia, Rodriguez Jr, Eelke Kleijn, Robosonic, Sam Divine, Nick Warren, and Atish, among others, Mitch Oliver’s rise to prominence has been swift and undeniable, solidifying his position as a trailblazer in Montreal’s melodic wave. His dynamic stage presence and infectious energy have left an enduring impression on fans from diverse corners of the world, from Amsterdam and Ibiza to Miami, New York, and South America.

Mitch Oliver’s dedication to his craft is evident in every performance and release. He continues to innovate and inspire with his music, blending new styles and influences while staying true to the emotional and atmospheric intensity that defines his work. As he ascends to international stardom, Mitch Oliver remains committed to creating music that unites and moves people on a profound level.
