Mood Therapy debuts on JuJu Muzik with the deep house hypnotiser and ode to the world, “Wish The World A Miracle”. It’s heartfelt plea rings out on the early breaks powered JuJu Muzik Dub Harmony flanked by a stripped-down Hornsey UKG-infused Dub and bonus track “You Make My Day”. All lush summer flavours for the dance floor and getting the thumbs up from Glenn Undeground, Graeme Park and Marcia Carr.
A hypnotising riff kicks off the Mood Therapy Original that’s layered with shimmering keys, skippy drums and a soulful vocal reminding us to cherish love over hate. A swinging groove big on summer sunshine. Uplifting breaks energy kicks off the JuJu Muzik Dub Harmony, with killer percussion, keys and shifting breaks. In contrast, ChilliFunk and Reel People’s Tom Davidson drops his Tommy Dee Hornsey Dub, which claps in raw underground dub style that’s deep and driving. Rounding off this release is “You Make My Day” Bonus track, a raw house jam.
Operating from London’s musical underground since the ’90s, Stephen Slade has built a trusted reputation as a producer of floor-filling and forward-looking underground house and techno. He is best known for his Infinity Plus One output, where he draws inspiration from his love of Detroit techno and intricate analogue textures carefully fused with spoken words and thought-provoking vocals. Standout releases include “Struggle is a Constant” (MOLAR Berlin), “Edge of Dread” (Drenched and subsequently re-released on Arpanet) and “Context is Broken” on Jimpster’s Cyphon Recordings imprint. His latest “Reflexion EP” has seen strong support from Moxie, Laurent Garnier, Osunlade, Jorge Caiado, Colin Dale, DJ Rocca and Physical Therapy.
His Mood Therapy alias captures his more soulful and jazz-influenced productions and has seen releases on Genial, the legendary R2 Recordings and most recently, Millennium Jazz.
JuJu Muzik continues to break boundaries with its eclectic palette of deep house releases including the newest instrumental set, “Sicilian Adventures EP” by Julian Garnett and the housey breaks of “K-Town” or “Twenny 25”. Known for its releases with Chicago house music innovator, Harry Dennis on “Press Reset” and “Infinitely”, JuJu Muzik has also featured the legendary New York house pioneer, Freddy Bastone on the slow burner, “Black” and Egyptian artist Adham Zahran on his “Space Dance” album. Whether it’s new Edits of underground classics or showcasing mixes from high calibre artists such as Mark Hand, Russian producer ScruScru, Ireland’s techno wizz, Zoid, Rudeboy Rupert, French producer, Trecci or home-grown talents such as Jeran Portis, Carl Grant, ReKab, JuJu Muzik always brings something fresh to the floor.
